Just saw this pop up on Cycle World and its badass. Both Harley and Indian have shiny new water cooled race bikes and will be duking it out on the dirt tracks like the olden days.

Its a purpose built race bike so it doesn’t share anything with the production Scout. Its has a gnarly 750 cc V-twin with 109 hp. I’m no expert on flat-track racing, but I’ve just started following it recently so I’m excited to see how this thing does.
Unfortunately its only a race bike because if Indian built a Standard/Scrambler/Tracker/somewhat-sporty street bike around the Scout’s motor I’d probably buy one in a heartbeat.

Polaris is on a roll right now. They’re putting their money in the right places and putting some great products out there. Their fringe stuff, like this project, is way cool and gets them some good press.

Definitely. Their racing projects (this FTR750, Project 156, Empulse RR) clearly indicate that Polaris cares about going fast and building cool bikes. I just hope that starts to trickle down to the production/street level. An Indian Street-Tracker/Scrambler or a Victory Sport-Naked bike would a welcome addition to the motorcycle market.

Scout 60 motor in something with some ground clearance in a Scrambler fashion and less than $12,000 would be killer.

I was wondering why that left footpeg is: A: set so high off the ground. B: doesn’t have the shift lever...?
But I guess flat-track racing, like nascar, it only ‘geared’ to turn left....

gear shifter is on the right leg, clutch is normal position, rear brake is up where front brake normally is, no front brake.
